Spell jars
Spell jars are a great way to make a spell, they can be kept on your altar or in a space of significance. They are also a physical reminder of the spell you’ve created. Spell jars are beginner friendly and basically any spell can be made with them. In this guide you’ll learn how to make a protection spell jar.
Here are the ingredients you’ll need:
- Salt
- Rosemary
- Cloves
- Sage
- A black candle
- Pen and paper
- Incense
Step One – Cleanse
Firstly you should smoke cleanse your space and your jar with incense, if you cannot smoke cleanse you can cleanse with salt or sound.
Step Two – Herb magick
Then begin to fill your jar with the herbs, putting intentions into each herb, asking for protection as they are placed in the jar.
Step Three- Affirmations
Once you have mostly filled your jar with the herbs, its time to write an affirmation.
Cut a piece of paper make sure its small enough to fit inside the jar. On this paper write a protection affirmation, for example “I am protected”. Roll up your affirmation and put it inside the jar.
Step Four – Wax Sealing
It’s now time to seal the jar, once the cork is securely in the jar it can now be wax sealed. Light your black candle and allow the wax to drip over the cork and bottle, once you feel the jar is sufficiently sealed blow out your candle and allow the wax to set.
Step Five – Placement
Once the wax is set put your jar somewhere significant. That can be on your altar, by your front door, or anywhere else that you feel could benefit from the spell. Ask your intuition where to place your jar.
Remember almost any spell can be made into a spell jar, you can make calming ones, self-love ones and even abundance ones, don’t be afraid to get creative!
