NEW MOON RITUAL

Gather your tools, it’s time to manifest!

The new moon is a great time to plant your Meta psychical seeds, think about what your goals are, what would you like to manifest?

Why is the new moon a good time to make a wish?

The new moon, also sometimes called the dark moon, encourages us to reflect on ourselves and our experiences. The new moon represents a clean slate, a blank canvas to work from. This is a great time to consider what we could change about ourselves as well as what we would like to introduce into our lives. The intentions set grow as the moon becomes full, growing with more powerful with each phase. Here’s a ritual that you can follow to work with the power of the new moon.

For this new moon ritual, you’ll need:

-          Tarot or oracle cards (or any other divination tool, for example runes)

-          A notebook and pen

-          A candle (any colour that you feel represents yourself or purple or green for manifestation and luck.)

-          Salt

-          Rosemary

-          Cloves

-          Lemon grass

-          cinnamon

-          Any other herbs that you feel represent luck, protection and abundance.

Step One- Clean and cleanse

Clean and cleanse your spiritual space. A messy altar is a used altar, however, sometimes visual clutter is also energetic clutter, get it cleaned up!

Wipe down any surfaces, dispose of any finished spells and sweep up your incense ash (tip: keep the ash to make black salt with).

Make sure you tidy away any tools and refresh any candles.

After this you should cleanse your space, this can be done with incense, sound and even crystals. My first choice is incense, specifically pagan magic.

Step Two- Manifest

Take your notebook and pen and begin to write your goals and aspirations for the next month. What do you want to achieve? What can you work towards this month? Whilst writing your manifestations write them as if they have already happened, for example “this February I was offered the promotion I had been working towards”. Writing like you already have achieved the goal helps to bring your manifestations into fruition. Remember to be specific with your goals, this will help you keep focus on exactly what you’re working towards.

Step Three- Divination

Take your tarot deck and ask three questions, pull one card for each. The three questions I ask are: “What action can I take this month to contribute towards my manifestations?”, “What do I need to be aware of this month whilst I work towards my goals?”, “What aspiration needs most of my focus?”.

Write down which cards come out of the deck, and the keywords of their meaning, as well as any personal interpretations you have of the card. Don’t over think this part, or second guess the cards. If needed pull only one more card for any clarification.

Step Four – Spell casting

Now you have established what you would like to manifest, it’s time to cast a simple manifestation spell. Take your candle and carve your name into the candle, place the candle on a fireproof surface. Around the candle sprinkle your herbs in a circle, start with the salt. Place every herb with intention, think about what you want each herb to do for you in this spell. Around the candle you can place protective and lucky crystals, for example quartz, black tourmaline and green adventurine. Light the candle and meditate on the spells intention, visualize your goals, what do they look like, feel like and smell like? Tap into the feeling that you already have that manifestation. Once the candle has burnt down dispose of the herbs by giving them back to the earth. REMEMBER YOUR FIRE SAFETY. NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE BURNING UNNNATTTENED.
